The poolside area lacked a dedicated space for lounging, forcing family and guests to sit on the grass during outdoor gatherings. The homeowner needed a comfortable, elevated platform near the pool that would accommodate patio seating without disrupting the flow of the lawn.
The Weekend Carpenter designed and constructed a 12′ x 20′ ground-level, freestanding deck, positioned perfectly for poolside entertaining. Built on solid dug footings, the frame features double 2×10 support beams, joists secured with heavy-duty hangers, and a clean 5/4 deck board surface—creating a spacious, railing-free sun deck that provides the ideal spot for loungers and social gatherings.
